Man United Crowned Premier League Champions, City Crowned FA Cup Winners

A good day in all for Manchester with Manchester United being crowned Premier League champions for 2011 following a draw with Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City beating Stoke City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.

Man United only needed a point from their last 2 games of the season and it was pretty much guaranteed that this was going to happen, and so they were crowned champions at Ewood Park before Man City took to the Wembley pitch where they beat Stoke City 1-0 thanks to a Yaya Toure goal.

Overall City were deserved winners of the trophy, with Stoke rarely threatening the goal – with Joe Hart having to make a decent save to deny Kenwyn Jones in the second half. Balotelli came close to scoring in the first half but was denied by a brilliant save from Sorenson.

  1. The feeling around Manchester has been great ever since and the anticipation of the Champions league final is adding to it. The City will explode if United win.
