Paul Scholes Announces Retirement

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has announced that he has retired from playing football with immediate effect. It was thought that Scholes may have continued on for one more season but he’s stated that he’s played his last match, and will now be joining the Man United coaching staff.

Scholes last game came during the defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League final, but helped United to regain the Premier League trophy. He will be sorely missed by the club, so this summer will probably be even more hectic as United search for a replacement. The likes of Luka Modric have often been linked to the club, but for now I think the rumours should be ignored and Paul Scholes should be remembered, for the footballing icon he has been throughout his great career.
