This has been in the pipeline for a while now but today it has been confirmed that Andre Villas-Boas has been given the job as Chelsea manager on a 3 year contract.
Villas-Boas is just 33 years of age and comes to Chelsea (for the second time) with just 3 years full managerial experience. He has previously been assistant manager at Chelsea, and Porto, and Inter – where he has previously been Jose Mourinho’s understudy.
To look at Villas-Boas and watch him during games, he does look a carbon copy of Jose Mourinho, which is unsurprising considering the amount of time they would have spent together in their careers so far. He broke so many records in his first season as Porto manager, the biggest of all including a Europa cup win, yet you still feel that this is quite a brave move by Chelsea, who are obviously looking to replace the man they should never have let leave in the first place – Jose Mourinho.
