Another hectic transfer deadline day today, with several interesting transfers currently taking place. Diego Forlan has joined Inter Milan from Atletico Madrid, with Forlan previously being linked to Tottenham Hotspur. I think this move is a bit of a shame as he has undoubted quality and would have loved to have seen him play in the Premier League again, where he got so much stick for his time with Man United.
Everton have accepted a £4 million bid from Leicester City for striker Jermaine Beckford – I find this news really surprising as it seemed to me that Beckford was finding his feet in the Premier League, and it doesn’t seem that Everton have that much in the way of reliable strikers. Yakubu is rumoured to be on his way out of the club to Blackburn Rovers, so should Everton allow Beckford to go they will be very lacking in firepower. Leicester will have brought themselves a real top quality striker if the move does go through, and he’s sure to help them into the Premier League if he does agree personal terms.
Arsenal have completed their signing of 28 year old Andre Santos from Fenerbahce, the brazilian left back who will probably be the direct placement for Gael Clichy who left to join Man City a few weeks ago. Santos cost the club £6.2 million and comes at a much needed time for the Gunners following their 8-2 thrashing by Man United at the weekend. Arsenal will need to sign at least 2 more players if they are to have any success this season, following Fabregas and Nasri both leaving the club, arguably their best players. The signing of Park Cho-Young seems to be pretty much a finalised deal, with the club currently waiting for a work permit to be granted to the South Korean striker. Meanwhile, German defender Per Mertesacker looks to be on his way to North London too, and has undergone a medical ahead of his transfer from Werder Bremen.
Tottenham Hotspur have finally completed the signing of West Ham midfielder Scott Parker for £5 million. Spurs looked very weak in this position recently, a surprise for them as they had a wealth of talent in midfield last season, but with Luka Modric seemingly unhappy at not being allowed to join Chelsea and Wilson Palacious apparently on his way out of the club they’ve looked short in central midfield. Parker should be an excellent signing for the club, and will have played for 4 London based clubs with Charlton, Chelsea and West Ham preceding his latest move. Meanwhile West Ham have been linked with a deal for forgotten Tottenham winger David Bentley, who spent some of last season on loan at Birmingham.
A host of clubs seem to be chasing Man City striker Craig Bellamy, with Liverpool apparently leading the race to re-sign the talented welsh striker. QPR were apparently set to sign Bellamy but he is now odds on to team up with King Kenny at Anfield, which would definitely give the club an exciting option up front. Liverpool yesterday confirmed the signing of 6 foot 6 20 year old Uruguay international defender Sebastian Coates after a series of impressive performances in the Copa America. Joe Cole’s stay at Liverpool looks likely to have come to an end following his loaning to French club Lille. Quite a random move for Cole, who’s struggled since arriving from Chelsea last season. It will be interesting to see how the 29 year old adapts to life in France, the midfielder looking to kick-start his career.
Stoke City look set to sign Cameron Jerome from Championship club Birmingham having agreed a fee with the club, with manager Pulis apparently looking to sign himself a young, powerful English forward. He’ll be hoping that he can get the best out of a player that seems to struggle with consistency, but who has undoubted talent.

I am impressed, I have to say. Really rarely do I see a blog thats both informative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the matter is something that not many people are talking intelligently a
