Thierry Henry Linked With Return To Arsenal

First of all, no this is not some kind of 4-month-early-April-Fools prank. According to some quite reliable sources, Arsene Wenger is considering making a sensational re-signing of Thierry Henry on a short-term loan deal for Arsenal.

Without Robin Van Persie, Arsenal have looked very short for options up front with Maroune Chamakh not on great form, whilst they will lose both Chamakh and Gervinho to the African Cup Of Nations next month leaving them with Van Persie, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chu-Young.

Wenger feels that a loan signing of Thierry Henry, who is currently playing in America with the New York Red Bulls, would be a great addition to their squad. Henry had actually trained with Arsenal last month, with his performances with the team seemingly good enough to warrant Arsene Wenger trying to re-sign him on a loan deal until March.

It remains to be seen whether Thierry Henry himself would consider a return to Arsenal, perhaps for fear of damaging the legendary status that he has with the club. Its obvious that he’s no longer the player that he was a few years back, and seemed to fail to impress consistently during his stint with Barcelona. Personally, I think it would be great to see Henry back in the Premier League, even if it was limited to just a few substitute appearances for the Gunners.
