So the far-fetched rumours are true, Thierry Henry will sensationally return to Arsenal as long as everything runs smoothly, with the move being confirmed by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. All that has to be finalised is an insurance package, incase Henry is to be injured during his return to the Premier League.
Henry has signed a 2 month loan deal from American club New York Red Bulls, who have now finished their season and are on their pre-season break until March. Thierry Henry has followed the same route as David Beckham (AC Milan) and Landon Donovan (Everton) who have both previously joined top clubs outside of their league in USA, to raise their fitness and play at a higher level.
Wenger explained that it was his idea for Henry to return to the club, but when approached by the club Henry was very open to the move. Both Chamakh and Gervinho will be leaving the club on international duty with the African Cup Of Nations taking place, so Wenger sees Henry as a great signing – full of experience and talent, to cover for the loss of these strikers.

Great move for Arsenal, this will keep us Gunners happy! But lets hope its not just an attempt to cover up the lack of quality within the squad with a big-name signing that’ll keep us pleased temporarily…

Agreed, great move for Arsenal but how many games will he actually feature in. Wenger has already said that he is 2 weeks off of match fitness and it will be highly unlikely he will be a starter in the 6 or so games that he will be there for. Having said that the sheer presence of such an Arsenal legend on the pitch will surely inspire the rest of the team.
