As expected Gary Cahill has completed his £7 million move to Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers, apparently being given a contract worth £23 million.
In another quite interesting piece of speculation, Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp has denied that the club are willing to swap Luka Modric for Fernando Torres at Chelsea. Chelsea are long admirers of Modric, and have made no secret of their intention to sign him previously, with Spurs seemingly managing to keep hold of one of their prized playmakers. Spurs are reportedly in the market for a new striker, and the Chelsea front-man would be a very surprising addition to the squad. I don’t think Chelsea would ever swap him for Modric despite his obvious lull in form, Torres must be able to return to his best – he has looked sharper in recent games so maybe his change in fortune isn’t too far away.
Tottenham are also after the £20 million rated Loic Remy, the 24 year old French striker currently plays for Marseille and has been compared to Thierry Henry.

  1. Good signing for Chelsea but not sure he warrants the high wage… I guess we shall see.
